Journal # 12   Strathmore
"All men dream, but unequally.  Those that dream at night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake the next day to find that their dreams were just vanity.  But those who dream during the day with their eyes wide open are dangerous men; they act out their dreams to make them reality."

I've taken a room in Strathmore, high in the hills above the airport.  It's a cheery little house with lots of windows.  My view sweeps down over the scarlet topped Pahutakawa trees, across Miramar to the Wingnut lot.  I am walking distance from the studios and only a couple of blocks from the wild hiking trails of the "Town Belt."

I've been enjoying the fare at the aptly named, "Castros's" cafe on Cuba Street, and haunting the used bookstores.  I want to absorb as much from this place, this experience as I can.  I found a flyer about a Tai Chi Master and I've started taking her classes.  She speaks little English.  Her instructions are simple and direct,

"Weight right foot.  Hands move center."

She is amazing to watch; quite small but conducts so much power in her movement and her stillness.  I learn just by being in her presence.

I spoke with Bruce again.  His schedule is still crazy.  They are going on location over the weekend and will not be planning auditions until next week.  That gives me time to explore.  And I know just where I want to go...
