Recommendations:
One of my favorite plays to direct, The Eight is a dark, dark
Christmas comedy about sexual assault.

"Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's
eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment.
As mass media descends upon the event, the other
members of the sleigh team demand to share their
perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and
perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone
from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself."

This play is intelligent and brilliantly funny as it cuts to the
heart of the issues surrounding sexual assault, fame,
and media frenzy.  The Critics agree:

"witty... tantalizing... highly recommended!"
--The Chicago Reader

"Wickedly funny"
--Los Angeles Times

"Hard-hitting in-your-face black comedy"
--Evening Post, Wellington, New Zealand

Keane Under The Iron Sea
In the vacuous landscape of popular culture and the war
zone of civilization where our lives, time, and human spirit are
mined and burned up in the furnaces of progress, Keane is
an oasis, a vibrantly alive siren song calling us back home to
ourselves and lifting our hearts up to beat with the necessity
of truth and soar among the stars.  These boys make a
beautiful noise!  I highly recommend their music. Visit Keane
here and take a listen.
The Journey of Tunuri and the Blue Deer, by James
Endredy, is a Huichol Indian Story that beautifully introduces children
to our family in nature - Father Sun, Mother Earth, Brother Wind,
Sister Water - and all that they share with the peoples of this planet.
Teaching our children about their relationship with the natural world
is not only of primary importance to the survival of our own and
every other species, but also essential for our children's healthy
mental, emotional, and physical growth, and sense of connection
and responsibility to others in their community and landbase.  Richly
illustrated with traditional Huichol yarn drawings, this empowering
and enchanting tale is lovely for children and adults alike.  For more
