Thank you for your interest in our dairy goat herd.  We have been breeding Nubians since 1974,
and  all of our Nubians are registered purebreds.   Our herd was in continuous DHIR testing for over
25 years, until spring of 2008, when we stopped that, at least for a while.  So only our older does
have official DHIR milk production records.   Usually the only shows we attend are our Clackamas
County Fair and Oregon State Fair, and very occasionally a local club show.  But the past 2 years
we have only attended one show, Oregon State Fair.   Our herd has won Premier Nubian Breeder
award there for 11 of the past 14 years, including the 2010 fair, having the highest placing does over
all.  We have our herd  ADGA Linear Appraised almost every year.  Summer 2010 was the most
recent Appraisal.  All of our does 4 years and over have Linear Appraisal scores 89 to 91.   We
plan to have the herd appraised again this coming summer.

We are breeding for long, tall, DAIRY type Nubians with strong bodies and correct udders, for
production with longevity.   We practice line breeding as the path to consistency.

Our foundation animals 30 years ago from the Goldthwaite herd were crossed with the
Manzanita/Sarco Creek bloodline.   Eventually we were fortunate to purchase, jointly with Sue
Heublein of Moonjumpers Nubians, GCH++*B Trillium Trails Proud Venture HES 91.5.  Venture
was linebred on GCH Trillium Trails Carmel Corn 9*M  LA  12-04 93 EEEE, who was the 1992
ADGA National Reserve GCH and Reserve Best Udder.  Venture's influence  on the Nubians of the
Pacific Northwest was considerable, especially in general appearance, size, and breed character.
Most of our older animals at this point have been a result of crossing our lovely Venture daughters
with ++*B Goldthwaite Jose Carreres, who was from the original "Bonny"  line of our foundation
animals.  Jose not only had an amazing track record for his daughters' beautiful show udders (1st
Senior Get of Sire at Oregon State Fairs for 4 years, and other shows, as well),  but he has stood as
high as 15th on the USDA Sire Summary list for PTA in transmitting milk production.  Unfortunately,
we lost both Venture and Jose a few years ago, although they will live on through AI.  We currently
have a young herdsire out of Jose, named Moon Dragon, and a yearling daughter, named Wind
Rose, of his through AI.

More recently, we have been using bucks from the outstanding Saada herd in Wyoming, who won
the 2009 Premier Breeder award at the ADGA National Show.   Currently, our senior herdsire is
*B Saada Gado Jeddiah  LA89 VEE, who has 5 daughters here ADGA Linear Appraised excellent,
90 and above.

Our kids are all taken from their dams at birh and raised on heat-treated colostrum and pasteurized
milk in isolation from the rest of the herd.  We do not do the CAE blood tests.  Our herd is free of
coryne abcesses and CL.  We feed the best available alfalfa hay and dairy goat ration we can get,
and supplement with selenium.

We require a $75 deposit to reserve a kid from a specific breeding, with the remainder due within 4
weeks after the kid is born .  They can leave here as early as about 3 weeks old.  We encourage
you to make a second choice.  Your deposit is refundable if the specific kid is not born, or if we
decide to keep it for any reason.  We reserve the right to keep any kid born here as a herd
replacement.  Our prices in this sales list are for pre-ordered kids, and may change after a kid is
born, if it was not previously ordered.  Because of current, depressed economic conditions, we
have, for this year, lowered prices on kids out of our first fresheners, and many of our older
does---except for the ones who just received significantly higher scores on Linear Appraisal or
special show wins this past year, and would have their kids' prices raised for those achievements.
We will have a lot of first fresheners, and will only keep a few of those.  So we will also have some
young milking does for sale in late spring.  We ship from the Portland Airport.  All shipping costs are
the responsibility of the breeder, including health papers, insurance, and crate costs.  We will provide
registration papers, extended pedigrees, and transportation  to the vet and airport.  We guarantee or
kids to be healthy, fertile, and otherwise satisfactiory, and will replace them if they are not.

We will be glad to answer any further questions about our Nubians and give more detailed
information on pedigrees, Linear Appraisal scores, management, production records, etc.  You are
welcome to visit our farm by appointment.
